Welcome to English in a Minute!
Children love to play! You could say it’s their job. But Anna and Jonathan are not children. So, how might they use this expression?
Child’s Play
Speaker A: Anna, what are you doing?
Speaker B: My robot camera stopped working. So, I’m fixing it.
Speaker A: Do you even know how?
Speaker B: Well, taking it apart is child’s play.
Speaker A: Yeah, but putting it back together might require an adult with an engineering degree.
“Child’s play” describes a simple, easy task. You don’t really have to think about what you’re doing. You just do it.
And that’s English in a Minute!
