In early August, former U.S. President Donald Trump was charged with four crimes connected to the 2020 presidential election process.

Conspire

The charges brought by U.S. Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith include conspiring to overturn the results of Trump’s 2020 presidential election loss and conspiring to violate voters’ rights. Trump pleaded not guilty.

To conspire is to make secret plans with others to commit an unlawful or wrongful act. The verb plot means the same as conspire.
