Astronomers in Chile reported a major discovery by the country’s powerful telescope called ALMA.
Galaxy
Artistic images based on ALMA’s data show the birth of a newly discovered galaxy from about 10 billion years ago. That is the time it took for its radiation to get within ALMA’s reach.
A galaxy is a huge collection of gases, dust, stars and star systems. Groups of them are called clusters. We all live in the galaxy known in English as the Milky Way.
