Speaker A: Dan, thanks for taking care of my office plant while I was away.
Speaker B: Oh, about that? I might have overwatered it or underwatered it.
Speaker A: Well, I haven’t been to my desk yet. But I’m sure it’s fine.
Speaker B: Well, actually…
Speaker A: You killed it!
Speaker B: Hey, I never claimed to have a green thumb.
If you have a green thumb, you have a special ability to make plants grow and keep them healthy. In Dan’s case, he seems to be especially good at killing plants.
