Good day, everyone! My name is Athena. Today, we will be visiting a big establishment where we can buy our daily necessities such as food, drinks, and even cleaning supplies! Everyone, let’s go to the supermarket!
A lot of supermarket chains can be found in the Philippines. The most common are SM Hypermarket, Robinsons Supermarke, and Puregold. Supermarkets are large retail stores that operates on a self-service basis and offer a wide selection of food products, cleaning and hygienic products, various household merchandise, and a whole lot of other things. In the Philippines, supermarkets usually have a very big section for fresh produce. These include fruits and vegetables. Most of the time, you can see fruits displayed even when they are not in season because the products were imported from other countries. Some common fruits you can find are watermelons, melons, papayas, pears, mangoes, apples, and grapes. For the vegetables, you will see garlics, onions, squash, gourds, and cucumbers. These products are also displayed on chiller shelves to maintain their fresh quality.
After the customers have completed their shopping, everything will be checked out at the counter.
