Welcome to English in a Minute!
Humans have many complex feelings and emotions. But what does mixed feelings mean? Let’s listen.
Mixed Feelings
Speaker A: So, Anna, do you like the location of the new office building?
Speaker B: I have mixed feelings. It’s closer to my home, but there are no sticker stores nearby. What am I supposed to do on my lunch break?
Speaker A: Umm, I’m sure you’ll figure out something.
Speaker B: I don’t know, Dan. I just don’t know.
If you have mixed feelings, you have conflicting emotions about something or someone. You might feel excited but also scared, or happy but also sad. Lots of things in life can cause mixed feelings, especially if you’re Anna.
And that’s English in a Minute!
