In late June, Russia’s military faced a brief uprising by a private armed force it employed in its war against Ukraine.
Mutiny
Yevgeny Prigozhin, owner of the military company, Wagner Group, said he was on a “march of justice” to oust the Russian defense minister. Russian president Vladimir Putin said the Russian army did not support the mutiny.
A mutiny is a rebellion, especially in connection with the soldiers and sailors. When members of a group reject its rules and seek to overthrow its leadership, you have a mutiny.
